Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take priority.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Requirements in Runcorn
- To hire a vehicle in Runcorn, you must be at least 21 years old, although restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with extra charges applicable for drivers under 25. A valid, full driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, held for the specified duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. You will need to present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with payment details and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be specified in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Runcorn office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through established payment providers.
4. Car Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be filled out and must be signed by both parties. Please ensure that the vehicle is returned in the same condition as received, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and billed as necessary. The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as when collected; otherwise, refueling charges will be applied. Late returns may result in extra fees, so please inform us as soon as possible if you expect to return the vehicle late. You are liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or additional charges accrued during your rental period, along with an administrative fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance, with full coverage details and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. You may explore additional insurance options to limit your financial exposure. It is wise to review these options closely. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess unless additional coverage is obtained. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse falls under your responsibility, regardless of insurance status.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited uses of rental vehicle:
- Prohibited activities include using the vehicle for illegal purposes or engaging in racing, rallying, or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials is not permitted. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is strictly forbidden. Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. Additionally, using the vehicle for unintended purposes, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and driving outside designated geographical boundaries without authorization is not allowed.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Runcorn will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for your rental in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraudulent activities.
Runcorn Legal Framework
These Terms comply with English and Welsh law. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Amendments to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon being posted on our website. Continued use of our services signifies acceptance of the revised Terms.
